Objective of RARIS is to support development initiatives based on institutional networking and partnerships aiming at sustainable development of Eastern Serbia.

Mayor services to the region

  • Support to inter-municipal cooperation - RARIS leades the regional working groups responsible for inter-municipal cooperation for specific issues:
    • Regional Waste management Coordination Body;
    • Secretariat of the National Regional Council South – East Serbia;
    • Working group for inter-municipal cooperation in water supply;
    • Technical assistance to four Inter-municipal Working Groups established under GIZ Project Local Economic Development in Eastern Serbia under support of GIZ and SDC.
  • Elaboration and implementation of Regional Development Strategy (2011-2018)
  • Overarching mayor regional infrastructural projects - Leading “Halovo” project (Regional waste management cooperation); Pre-feasibility Study for development of gas infrastructure in Eastern Serbia, Establishing river line Belgrade – Djerdap etc;
  • Leading role in cross-border (member of Joint Working Group for Programming SR-RO and SR-BG) and transnational cooperation;
  • Providing non financial support to SME in region through the Standardised Set of Services;

  • Assistance to municipalities in the preparation and implementation of priority local projects;
  • Assistance in foundation and operation of Local Economic Development offices;
  • Support to development of local development and sectoral strategies;
  • Active role in a process of elaboration and implementation of the Regional Spatial Plan.
