Objective of RARIS is to support development initiatives based on institutional networking and partnerships aiming at sustainable development of Eastern Serbia.

The Working Group for coordination of activities on the project of establishing riverline on the Belgrade - Đerdap route was formed

 On 27th October 2017, RARIS organized a meeting on the possibility of establishing riverline on the Belgrade - Djerdap route in Veliko Gradište.

At the meeting, all the participants expressed their interest in intensifying activities on establishing of the Belgrade-Đerdap riverline and a Working Group (WG) was established to coordinate the activities on the project.

RARIS elaborated an "Analysis of the possibility of establishing river passenger transportation on the Belgrade-Đerdap route". This analysis is funded by the EU under the TRANSDANUBE project. Several different vessels have been analyzed for transportation of more passengers in a short time interval and at an acceptable price. The optimal riverline Belgrade / Veliko Gradište / Golubac / Donji Milanovac / Tekija was chosen as optimal.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications - Tourism Sector, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Port Authority, Municipality of Donje Podunavlje (Veliko Gradište, Golubac, Majdanpek, Kladovo and Negotin), Djerdap National Park, RARIS - TheRregional Development Agency of eastern Serbia, the RDA Braničevo, and the Ministry of Transport - the water transport sector has supported this initiative.

Members of the working group are representatives of the municipalities of Veliko Gradiste, Kladovo and Majdanpek, representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Port Authority, with RARIS as a secretariat.
