The project Transdanube.Pearls, in which RARIS is a partner, won the prestigious Austrian award

The project Transdanube.Pearls, in which RARIS is a partner, won the prestigious Austrian award "VCO Mobility Award 2018". 

Altogether 321 projects and concepts have been submitted to the VCÖ Mobility Award, the largest mobility competition in Austria, Transdanube.Pearls is one of the 12 winning projects that received the VCO Mobility Award, and won in the category of "Leisure and tourism".

Transdanube.Pearls - Network for sustainable transport along the Danube is implemented in the framework of the Danube Program and funded by the European Union. Project leads the Austrian Agency for Environmental Protection, and in the project participate 15 organizations from 9 countries. Partners from Serbia are RARIS (Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia) and DCC (Danube Competence Center). Associated strategic partner from Serbia are the Ministry of Environment, Development Agency of Serbia - DAS and municipality of Kladovo.

The main objective of the project is to establish a network of destination (so-called “Danube.Pearls”) dedicated to sustainable transport for tourists and residents along the Danube. This network will increase the visibility of the destination and provide visitors a unique opportunity to travel the entire flow of the Danube using sustainable modes of transport: boat, bike and so on (without private cars).
