Kladovo got the Danube.Pearl status

Kladovo has got the Danube.Pearl status at the international conference which was held last week in Austria when the "Network for Sustainable Mobility and Tourism along the Danube - Danube.Pearls" was officially formed with the headquartered in Linz, Austria https://www.danube-pearls.eu/en/ .

Beside the Kladovo, this status is awarded to only 10 destinations on the Danube, from Ulm in Germany to the Danube Delta in Romania. Apart from Kladovo, destinations in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Romania are also included in the network of sustainable Danube destinations.

Danube.Pearls: Soft tourism along the Danube

Representatives of 11 tourism organizations from the Danube region demonstrate how to travel without a private car when on holidays. Together they established the Danube.Pearls network in order to jointly elaborate services for sustainable traveling from the Black Forest to the Black Sea.

One step away from the Danube.Pearls network

15 project partners from 9 Danube countries visited the city of Pécs in Hungary and discussed the possibilities to found a network of Danube.Pearls. During this meeting, future Danube.Pearls jointly agreed on the necessary steps and decided to establish such a network that will be the basis to continue fostering sustainable mobility in tourism in the Danube region beyond the lifetime of the EU project Transdanube.Pearls.

Mobility Info Center will provide tourists all information related to sustainable transport, including timetables of public transport, cycling and any other relevant information related to sustainable mobility transport.

Today in Kladovo  was opened "Mobility Info Center", which operates within the Tourist Info Center. Mobility Info Center jointly established by Tourist Organization of Kladovo and RARIS. 

Mobility Info Center will help tourists and locals in the region of Djerdap to use the ways of transport that have a minimal negative impact on the environment.

Undetected Pearl: Exploring the potential of soft tourism in the Danube Delta

Participants from 9 European countries jointly visited the Danube Delta and explored the region’s potential for soft tourism and sustainable mobility.

Around 40 participants and representatives from the tourism and mobility sector visited the Danube Delta in Romania during a study visit in the project Transdanube.Pearls. Together they explored existing mobility and tourism services in the region. The trip was followed by a partner meeting in which first success stories, such as the mobility information center in Slovenia were presented.

Transdanube.Pearls wins the Austrian VCÖ Mobility Award 2018

Altogether 321 projects and concepts have been submitted to the VCÖ Mobility Award, the largest mobility competition in Austria. 12 projects won and Transdanube.Pearls is one of the lucky winners.

Creating winners by fostering sustainable mobility along the Danube

Over 100 representatives of the tourism and mobility sector from the Danube region attended the mid-term conference of the EU project Transdanube.Pearls in Neu-Ulm (Germany) on 11 July 2018. The goal was to present future-oriented mobility and tourism services and the benefits from cooperation and transnational networks. The event was hosted by the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm and organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg. The conference was organized during the International Danube Festival in Ulm/Neu-Ulm that takes place every two years.

Seminar for stakeholders involved in sustainable transport services was held in Kladovo

In Kladovo was held a seminar for partners and actors involved in the planning and implementation of sustainable mobility services in Eastern Serbia. 

On these seminar it was presented: 
- Feasibility study for the promotion and development of sustainable mobility services,
- Feasibility study for the establishment of a system for renting (e) bikes in eastern Serbia

In addition to the studys, the participants were presented the existing and potential tourism products sustainable tourism in Eastern Serbia.

New sustainable mobility offers along the Danube

Altogether 40 mobility and tourism experts visited the city of Vukovar in Croatia for the fourth partner meeting of the project Transdanube.Pearls on 21-22 March 2018. During the meeting, partners presented the first success stories on the implementation of mobility and tourism services that will improve the possibilities for visitors to travel within and between destinations with the train, bus, bike or ship.

Workshop: Analysis of the Sustainable Regional Tourism Mobility Plan (SRTMP)

As a part of the activities in the realization of the Project named Transdanube.Pearls - Network for sustainable mobility along the Danube, which is realizing with the cooperation of 15 partners from nine countries, in Kladovo, on March 9, 2018, a workshop was held for the members of the Working Group, appointed by Kladovo Municipality to develop a Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility in Tourism for the Municipality of Kladovo and the Wider Region of Iron Gate.

First milestones: Common Standards for the future network and Training of Sustainable Mobility Managers

30 partners and stakeholders from the mobility and tourism sector from 9 European countries participated in a transnational training in Silistra, Bulgaria for becoming a certified sustainable mobility manager. The training is part of the EU-project Transdanube.Pearls and followed the third partner meeting. During this meeting the partners commonly approved the final version of the common standards that provide the basis criteria for becoming member of the network and a Pearl.

International expert team reaches Danube Delta using only sustainable means of transport

In the context of the EU Interreg project “Transdanube.Pearls”, an international expert team, consisting of video, mobility and tourism experts, travelled the 2.860 km long route along the Danube by using only sustainable means of transport, such as busses, trains, ships and bikes. The first part of the journey from the source of the Danube in Germany to Budapest took place in July 2017. The second part of the tour from Budapest to the Danube Delta was successfully completed in September 2017. Aim of the journey is to demonstrate the existing possibilities to travel the Danube region without private car.

International expert team travels sustainably from the source to the delta of the Danube

In the context of the EU Interreg project “Transdanube.Pearls”, an international expert team, consisting of video, mobility and tourism experts, travelled along the Danube by using only sustainable means of transport, such as busses, trains, ships and bikes. With more than 10 stops in 11 days, the first part of the journey was successfully completed in Budapest. The team will continue travelling sustainably along the Lower Danube by the end of August, from Budapest to the Danube delta. Aim of the journey is to demonstrate the existing possibilities to travel the Danube region without private car.

Transdanube.Pearls explores the Upper Austrian Danube region

In the course of a study visit organized as part of the project “Transdanube.Pearls” around 40 participants visited the Upper Austrian Danube region and Werfenweng, a best-practice example of the Alpine Pearls. This trip was followed by a partner meeting, in which the participants continued their work on the implementation of new/improved mobility services, regional mobility centres and new tourist packages for inhabitants and tourists in the regions along the Danube.

The gala conference of the project Transdanube.Pearls

On First March in Belgrade, Tulip Inn Hotel, RARIS has hosted an international Kick-off Conference of the project TransDanube.Pearls - Network for sustainable mobility along the Danube. The conference was preceded by a two-day meeting of partners dedicated to the methods of implementation of the project. Transdanube.Pearls project will be implemented in the framework of the Danube Program and funded by the European Union.
