A meeting on the possibility of establishing of river traffic on the Belgrade - Đerdap route was held today in Velika Gradište, organized by RARIS.
RARIS prepared the "Analysis of the possibility of establishing river passenger traffic on the Belgrade-Djerdap route". This analysis is funded by the EU under the TRANSDANUBE project. Several different vessels have been analyzed which can transport more passengers in a short time interval and at an acceptable price. The optimal river line Belgrade / Veliko Gradište / Golubac / Donji Milanovac / Tekija was chosen as optimal.
Representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications - Tourism Sector, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Port Authority, Municipalities of Donje Podunavlje (Veliko Gradište, Golubac, Majdanpek, Kladovo and Negotin), Đerdap National Park, RARIS – Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia and RRA Braničevo attended the meeting while the Ministry of Transport - the Water Transport Sector, supported this initiative.
All of the meeting participants expressed the interest to intensify the activities on the establishment of the Belgrade - Đerdap River Line and an Operational Group was formed, which will continue to lead the project.
