RUSTIK Project on Enhancing Short Supply Chains in Tourism
As a part of the RUSTIK project, a working meeting was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Panorama Motel in Boljevac, Serbia focusing on developing short supply chains in the tourism sector. The event brought together key stakeholders from tourism and agriculture in the Boljevac and Sokobanja municipalities, aiming to foster dialogue on strengthening ties between these sectors and boosting the local economy.
Aleksandar Bogunović from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce presented best practices from Europe and Serbia, along with relevant legal frameworks that facilitate efficient collaboration between food producers and tourism businesses—hotels and restaurants. Special emphasis was placed on identifying support mechanisms to streamline the formation and operation of short supply chains, including direct partnerships between farmers and hospitality providers.
The meeting organizers—the Faculty of Agriculture of Belgrade University and the Regional Development Agency of Eastern Serbia (RARIS)—expressed satisfaction with the turnout and constructive proposals, highlighting the importance of such initiatives for sustainable local development.
