Contract for the Regional Waste Management Plan, Contract for its implementation and the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment for the Regional Waste Management Plan was signed on Friday, 16th October in Zajecar.
Mr. Vladan Jeremic, Director of RARIS (Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia) signed the Contract with the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad on behalf of 7 local self-governments in eastern Serbia.
The signing of this contract continues the implementation of the Agreement on joint municipal waste management which was signed between the city of Zajecar and the municipalities of Majdanpek, Kladovo, Bor, Negotin, Knjazevac and Boljevac on 15th December 2014.
The value of the Contract is 3.2 million dinars, and the deadline for completion is 16th April 2016.
The competent Ministry will give the approval for the Regional Waste Management Plan which will be adopted later by the assemblies of all 7 units of local self-governments which participate in the project.
This will be followed by land expropriation and the start of the process of selection of a private partner in accordance with the Law on Public-Private Partnership.
By way of reminder, the signatories to this contract had previously decided that further funding of the project be implemented through the use of public - private partnership.
