Regional Waste Management Plan for the City of Zaječar and municipalities of Boljevac, Bor, Kladovo, Majdanpek, Negotin and Knjaževac was adopted by the Coordination Committee for implementation of the Agreement on Joint Municipal Waste Management, in the course of meeting held on July 18th, 2016, in Zaječar. The Coordination Committee adopted a Report on the strategic assessment of environmental impacts of the Regional Waste Management Plan, and a Report on participation of authorities, organizations and the public besides the Regional Plan.

All three strategic documents have been developed by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Novi Sad. Its representatives presented their final versions to members of the Coordination Committee and representatives of the media.

In accordance with the Law on Waste Management, the Regional Waste Management Plan and the Report on strategic assessment of environmental impact were submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection - Department for waste management, in order to obtain approvals.

The meeting was attended by members of the Coordination Committee representing the municipalities / city as signatories to the Agreement, representatives of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Novi Sad, creators of the Regional Waste Management Plan, and the media representatives.
