The tourist offer of Eastern Serbia presented in Romania

Today in Craiova (Romania) the tourist offer of Eastern Serbia, the Bor and Zaječar districts, the municipalities: Majdanpek, Kladovo, Negotin, Sokobanja, Knjazevac, Boljevac and the towns of Bor and Zajecar is presented. Tourist agencies and media from the region of Craiova participated in the extremely well-attended presentation.

After the presentation, a series of B2B bilateral meetings between representatives of the tourism industry in Eastern Serbia and travel agencies from Romania were held, where future cooperation was discussed. RARIS will organize an "info tour" in eastern Serbia for travel agencies from Romania, so that they can personally get to know the tourist offer of eastern Serbia and find business partners.

Eastern Serbia is a growing destination that has 2,900 tourist facilities with 11,000 beds, which is visited annually by more than 300,000 tourists who spend over 1.2 million overnight stays, and 170,000 of them visit local museums. In Eastern Serbia there are more than: 50 protected natural assets, 100 kilometers of hiking and cycling trails, 30 wineries, 100 festivals.

The event was organized by the Rural Tourism Cluster "Magic of the East" with the support of the Regional Agency for the Development of Southwest Oltenia, the Chamber of Commerce of Krajina and the Regional Agency for the Development of Eastern Serbia - RARIS from Zaječar. The event was organized as part of the project "Increasing the competitiveness of the Magic of the East Cluster", within the wider project "#EUforYou — for cultural heritage and tourism" financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ, and implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ.
