About the Project

Training for Accessible Cultural Tourism (TACT) is an Erasmus+ funded initiative dedicated to making cultural heritage sites more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities (PWDs).

Cultural heritage and tourism sites across Europe hold immense value, yet for many visitors with disabilities, accessing them remains a significant challenge. A key reason is the lack of trained staff who understand how to design and deliver inclusive experiences. TACT addresses this gap directly: by equipping professionals at Tourism Support Organisations (TSOs) with the knowledge, tools and skills to drive lasting accessibility improvements in their regions.

What We Do

Training of Trainers

We develop and deliver a comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) programme, building expertise in accessibility, inclusive service provision and infrastructure development among TSO staff across partner countries.

Flexible Professional Learning

We create structured, hands-on training opportunities for adult professionals working in cultural heritage and tourism, making high-quality learning accessible and practical.

Sustainable Resources & Knowledge Sharing

We build an online learning platform and a Mentorship Network that connect accessibility advocates, share best practices and support ongoing collaboration long after the project concludes.

What We Aim to Achieve

• 📚Delivered at least 6 training modules with supporting materials for TSOs and heritage site staff
• 🎓Trained at least 9 trainers from 3 countries through the ToT programme
• 🗺Conducted 3 study visits to assess and learn from accessible practice in the field
• 🏢Established training programmes in 3 TSOs and trained at least 45 cultural heritage and tourism professionals
• 💻Launched an online platform serving at least 54 users with accessible resources and guidelines
• 🤝Created a Mentorship Network connecting at least 54 trained professionals with cultural heritage organisations

Beyond these tangible results, TACT aims to foster a shift in awareness, building stronger regional cooperation, increasing understanding of accessibility challenges and embedding a culture of inclusion across the sector.
